About

OUR MISSION

Improve healthcare outcomes for our users

Preparedness

Dementia isn't something you really consider until it's happening to you or someone you love.

By then it's too late for a lot of people, if they'd had more time they could have done things like reduced their risk, financially planned, got their legal plans in order etc. to reduce the impact or even avoided it altogether.

MINDer was developed to make sure more people are prepared for potential needs

  • No need to spend time researching when it's been done for you.

  • Reassurance that you've done everything you can

Communication

Optimal healthcare relies on clear communication of information in both directions, between patient and clinician.

However, we are all only human.

For patients, there are many barriers to this:

  • Language proficiency

  • Issues with recalling information completely

  • Lack of reflection on the potential causes of our issues

These are all completely understandable, because as patients we are dealing with:

  • Emotional stress of concern for ourselves or loved ones.

  • No education on cognitive issues

  • Lack of understanding around the complex nature of cognitive functions

  • No insight into the process of diagnosis

For healthcare professionals, as for patients, there's a lack of time and a scarcity of resources.

There are also varying styles of communication, and ways of handling patients that mean it is impossible to achieve the optimal patient-clinician relationship every time.

MINDer was developed to aid communication of the things that matter

  • Reduce stress on patients

  • Make sure appointments are not wasted

  • Reduce the cognitive load on healthcare professionals by presenting information that's needed, in a way that's easy to digest.

  • Overcome differences in comprehension and communication skills.

WHO WE ARE

Passionate about cognition & self determination

The idea behind MINDer was conceived by our founder, Vic.

Their passion for the mind has been long standing, graduating with a 1st Class degree in Neuroscience from McGill University, Montreal - the birthplace of formal Neuroscientific study.

Since then, they've pursued academic and commercial behavioural research positions at some of the UK's most prestigious companies  including ITV and Virgin Media.

MINDer was conceived after watching their family grapple with the effects of Alzheimer's, unprepared for the implications and unaware of the warning signs.

It was a terrifying thought that they could have to witness more of their family disappear in front of their eyes, still physically healthy, but loosing their self & their independence.

In a time where people are always busy and overwhelmed with information, there needed to be a way to help educate people and prevent this from happening that takes the minimal amount of effort.
